Blacklisting the blacklisters: the evidence revisited (subscribers, key players, finances, etc)

The alleged architect of the construction ‘blacklisting’ scandal, Cullum McAlpine, who has been described as the mastermind behind the construction ‘blacklisting’ scandal that hit headlines over the past two years, has refused to give evidence in the High Court case due to start May 11th to establish the extent of wrongdoing in the industry. Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd, the company headed by Cullum McAlpine, is accused of defamation, breaches of the 1988 Data Protection Act, conspiracy and misuse of private information. The outcome of the trial will determine the level of compensation that will be awarded to victims of ‘blacklisting’.  Altogether around 30 construction firms are involved in the litigation. The trade union Unite pledged to challenge Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd every time that company tenders for public procurement contracts unless Cullum McAlpine gives evidence at the court. In the meantime, here is a reminder of some of the evidence already available and which the court will no doubt be considering as part of its deliberations…
